The Tomato Test.
Place a tomato on a cutting board.
Without applying pressure, glide the knife over the skin.
A sharp knife will pierce and slice the skin effortlessly.
DULL.

The Paper test.
Hold a thin piece of paper (like newspaper) in one hand.
Use the knife to slice through the edge of the paper.
A sharp knife will glide through smoothly without tearing or snagging.
DULL.
Sharp!
The Fingernail Test.
(Use with caution!)
Rest the edge of the knife lightly against your fingernail at a slight angle.
A sharp blade will bite gently into the nail without slipping.
Avoid pressing hard or dragging the blade.
